Google contacts to be sync with RingCentral

Have the capability to sync my contacts with my RingCentral application since this feature is only available only with Outlook right now

Make sure you are on the latest version of our Desktop App. then go to Settings (the small gear wheel) > Contacts.  When you move the "View Google contacts" switch to the "on" position, youi'll get a pop-up window (image on the right), which prompts you to log into the Google account.

GN GE,

That's correct. The RingCentral Admin portal does not have this functionality.

thanks for this Mike now does this only affect that specific extension/desktop install? When I tried this it worked fine but when I was online in the main account the address book did not reflect the same information, in fact it didn't reflect any.  The online address book was empty still until I manually imported the contacts.

is there a way to sync the google contacts with the main account records so that the contact names also show up in the call logs (rather than just on the desktop app)?

Breanna, Sorry, no not at this time. Google contacts will sync with the mobile application and with the chrome extension but not with the main account Contacts.

My google contacts are syncing with the desktop app but not the mobile app.  I've followed all the instructions in this thread and even reinstalled the mobile app but no luck.  Any advice?  This feature is a must.

Thats strange. Its always worked for me once I authorized Google to share contacts with RingCentral. You dont state whether you have an Android phone or an iPhone. Do you have sharing turned off anywhere for the app and/or Google in your phones settings? Just a thought.

Hey Anna, the feature that Breanna mentioned (which is different from the original post) has no ETA and is not an active feature request yet. Feel free to submit one for others to vote on :)

Is there a way to sync my google contacts and/or mobile phone contacts with the windows desktop app?  my text messages should display the name of the person who sent it if i have them in google contacts like on my phone.  but i can't find what you describe above in the new app.  what am i missing?  thank you

Hi Adam,

This functionality is not yet available with the desktop app. Our Product Team have announced that this will be added in Q3 (2020).

Why do phone numbers marked "Business" or "Company" in Gogoel Contacts both get coded as "Other" in RingCentral Phone?
