Creating Seamless Voice Experiences with Alexa for Business
Its no surprise that consumer technology inevitably makes its way into the workplace. Its a pattern weve seen many times over with technologies like instant messaging, mobile apps, and more. The same pattern is set to take place once again with voice assistants coming to the workplace, and we believe the impact will be big.
Today at the AWS re:Invent conference in Las Vegas, Amazon introduced its new Alexa for Business, which was announced in a keynote address by Werner Vogel, CTO of Amazon. Many consumers are already familiar with the technology in their homes. Amazon has been leading the charge in voice assistants with their Alexa-powered Echo devices, enabling people to ask things like, Alexa, whats the weather? or Alexa, whats todays news?
Now the same innovation is coming to the workplace with Alexa for Business, and were really excited to be a part of it. As highlighted in todays Amazon keynote, RingCentral is one of the new and exciting integrations for Alexa for Business. The RingCentral integration enables the use of voice commands to join meetings, send text messages, listen to voicemails, and make calls in an easy and intuitive way.
RingCentral Meetings for Alexa for Business, which was highlighted in Amazons keynote today, reduces the friction of starting and managing online meetings or conference calls simply by using voice commands. In addition, RingCentral users can join any meeting scheduled in other Amazon Alexacompatible third-party meeting applications, without the need to download those applications.
For example, begin an online meeting with a simple Start meeting voice commandtheres no need to dial a conference call-in number or remember a meeting ID number. Using Alexa for Business, you can also join the audio portion of a RingCentral meeting directly through an Amazon Alexaenabled device.
