Can I email a fax to a number with an extension?

how can I fax (via email or web) to a number that includes an extension. In the old fax modem days you could include a comma where you wanted a pause, but I have no idea how to do using the @ rcfax.com or even the web interface ...

Hello mikejt,

I noticed this question was never answered. For anyone else who may have this question, there are instructions for this in our Knowledge Base:  Sending Fax From a Fax Machine to a Specific RingCentral Extension

Is there a solution that doesn't require the use of a fax machine? For example I'd like to send a fax to extension 100 at phone number 123456790. I've tried 1234567890, 100@rcfax.com but it doesn't work. Suggestions?

To clarify, you cannot fax to a number + extension number.  You need to fax directly to the Digital Line. Hope that helps.

Nathan, you are very close.  Try using an asterisk instead of a comma so that it looks like this:    xxxxxxxxxx*xxx@rcfax.com

FYI... this may or may not work on all receiving fax machines. It will depend on if the other system recognizes the " * " .

So how does an outside entity send (eFax) to a specific RC extension?

Scott, they will have to just fax to the 10 digit number.
