RingCentral Meeting: won't launch from Desktop Application Button

Yes, we can start that up and run a conference, but for the DESKTOP app, there is also a button at the bottom that says "Video Conferencing" when you hover over it. When you click it, you are taken to the RC web interface and told to download the software.

It sure would make more sense that if you already have the software on your computer, it automatically launches that.

I haven't done that yet.  Going to wait for everyone else to see if any bugs.  I'm still operating on 7.2.3.xxx

OK Claudio, let's flip a coin to see which one of us should upgrade.  You call it - Heads or Tails?

If your current RC Meeting is not update to date, it will take you to the website to update the version.  So please update your RC Meeting then test.  This seems to resolve the issue.  Your RC Meeting should be able to be closed completely and it will launch it by itself.

Happy 4th.

This was added to 7.2.3 but that version was pulled for maintenance.  I am looking into this now.  Thank you for your patience.

Here is what they told us in the training class:
First, you need to make sure you have the current version of RC for Meetings
Second, the current version of RC4W (it appears you do with 7.2.4)
Third, after you click on the video icon, another screen will open and you'll need to log into RCM
I just tested and it worked as they described.

Wow, I'm amazed at all the responses here. So for the record, before I posted here, I did contact someone at RC and they told me the VC app did not pop up for them and there was nothing I could do about it. HOWEVER, after Kim's advice I updated the VC app and it appears to work now.  Thanks for the help.

James, I talked to that agent.  He did not have an updated version of the Softphone which is why it didn't work for him either.  He's updating now :-)

On another note, if you keep the RCM open in the background, when you click on the video icon, you're into meetings without any other steps.
