I have a Cisco desk top phone. Is there anyway to get the phone to flash one of the light to notify me of a voicemail?

That model has an integrated Voicemail message waiting indicator light on the top of the phone (see attached image). It should be programmed to work (light up on any VM message) if it was purchased from RingCentral. Does that light turn red at all for you?

I have a Cisco SPA303 (essentially looks the same) which has always worked from the day I purchased it over four years ago.

I also provided a link for that model's data sheet.

Additionally, here's a link for the product manual for that series phone.

I don't know about the Cisco SPA514G phone but with my Cisco SPA303 I am able to access the administrative web portal by simply typing in the IP address of the phone (the IP address should be available under Settings | Network on the phone).

In the portal there are settings for various items and if memory serves me correctly there is a setting for the VM indicator light functionality as well.

If the phone was purchased from RingCentral, it should function as Jan described. The MWI can be turned off on our end, so if this is the case it could be turned back on.  Just give our support team a call and have the serial number for the device handy.
