We have been having multiple problems with SMS texting over the past several months, including messages being sent with many characters being dropped or replaced, messages being broken into multiple messages in much shorter pieces than the 160 limit. We sent in multiple examples of this to RC tech support yesterday and opened a support case.
They have now just phoned us to let us know that there is a system wide SMS service outage so they cannot work on my case until that is resolved - BUT when you check the RC service status page at https://support.ringcentral.com/s/status, it is showing no issued with SMS or any other RC services. The tech that called acknowledged this and will "try" to get someone to update the status page - what good is this if we cannot rely on it being accurate within a few minutes?
I then asked that with the status page not being updated accurately, how do we know when the SMS service is working again properly? She indicated "not to worry, we will contact you directly" - they are obviously not going to contact every RC customer directly to inform them!
Can the system status webpage be updated more timely and accurately? and maybe add a datetime stamp of when it was last updated. We need to be able to rely on this status page.
