We have a semi basic setup where we have our main line (local) and an extension for each person (8 people). At shift changes we change the auto receptionist and company greeting extension to the person coming on duty. This allows calls and SMS to go directly to their smartphone. Unfortunately only one person (there is a direct number associated with this extension) has the ability to send SMS. Every other user gets an error stating there is no direct number that supports SMS. Is there a setting issue here or does each extension require a direct number? This is unnecessary to us because customers never need more than our main line. We just need to route is to the right person.
