Desktop App: Uninstall failed

At some time in the past RingCentral for Windows 7.0.11608.381 was installed on a Windows 7 workstation.  Whenever the user logs in it automatically launches and now she wants to uninstall it.

It looks like an uninstall attempt was already tried and was unsuccessful.  It is no longer listed under Programs and Features, so it cannot be uninstalled by the normal method.

Is there an alternate method to remove it when the normal method doesn't work?

The following are the suggested steps to take to uninstall the current version of the App.  Please note - you need to have some knowledge of computers or seek professional assistance.

From the Control Panel, uninstall the program

Via Run Regedit, manually delete RC files in HHKEY/CURRENTUSER/SOFTWARE & HHKEY/LOCALMACHINE/SOFTWARE

Search PC, via Explorer, and manually delete RC files associated with this App.

         Properly reboot PC

De-authorize softphone under your extension (via portal)

Install new App and treat as a new installation

Hi Joe,

When an install or uninstall fails like this, I find the best way to fix it is to  simply use a tool provided by Microsoft that can be found here

Please note you have to be logged into Windows as an admin to run it. Once it is running, follow the prompts. In your case, you will say you have a problem uninstalling. When it asks if it should detect and apply fixes automatically, choose that you wish to apply them yourself. Give it a minute or 2 to run and then a list of programs should populate. Choose RingCentral for Windows, and it should take care of the rest.

If it doesn't, or you need more help, please feel free to create a support ticket

Good luck!
