Mobile App: issues with iPhone 6 App after the update?

My RingCentral iphone app won't run at all.  Starts up and immediately crashes after the 9.2 update this morning.  I removed the app and re-installed.  It let me log in and then crashes everytime I try to open it up.  I have an iPhone 6 with version 9.2 (13C75).

Can you go ahead and open a support case for this and in the notes include the same details. This might be something new that has surfaced.   Open a Case

Then if you don't mind you can reply here with the case number

We've discovered the likely cause of this is an incorrect phone number in the contacts list. If the fix below does not fix the problem, please open a case.     
              
Search through the native iPhone/iPads contact list to find and correct any numbers in the Contacts list to remove any non-numeric characters from the end of those numbers.  Once removed from all contacts,  then the iOS app will launch ok and work as expected.

That was quick and it worked - actually I just disabled the Contacts list in the iPhone Settings -> RingCentral -> Contacts   Have too many numbers to check them all.

Mike,

We just came across this issue also at my office.  Now disabling the phone contacts connection to ring central will free up whatever conflict that is preventing the app from opening.  But we cant located the specific contact that is the issue.  This phone has 500+ contacts. 

Now, on my phone I've tried to recreate this issue.  I created a contact on my icloud that included non-numerical characters at the end of the number, wait for my phone contact to sync and yet my ring central continues to work.

What else within the contacts could be causing this conflict (either than the non-numerical character)?

Our team is still looking into this.  We'll post more information as we confirm more details and have a resolution or fix in place.

anything yet? I have had this issue since Monday. Tried disabling Contact in RC app, and that did not solve the crashing issue.

Hello Mike - I found this thread after posting in the earlier one. As stated above, I disabled the Contacts connection on the RC mobile app, restarted the phone, and it still crashes on opening. I have too many contacts to review individually.

Our product team is still looking at this. I don't have an official word, but there may be patch that compensates for this. Until then, you'll have to find and fix the erroneous entries, or disabled the Contacts list in the iPhone Settings.

I believe I did disable the Contact list. Could you confirm the steps I used: Settings ---Ring Central--- Turn Off Contacts ("Allow RingCentral to Access"). I then restarted my phone, but the mobile app still crashes.

If there is another feature to disable, please let me know.

I have also deleted and reloaded the app - suggested by tech support. That was also unsuccessful.

These are the steps to disable: :  iOS Settings->Privacy->Contacts->RingCentral (turn off).
