Polycom VVX Intercom directly to another extension

I need a way to press the intercom button and then a line key button on a Polycom expansion module. I am moving from an on prem ShoreTel phone system and am greatly disappointed at all the features I am losing! Every time my busy receptionist needs to intercom someone she has to press intercom and manually dial an extension in stead of pressing one of the presence line keys for each extension. This may make us switch providers very soon.

I don't know of any providers who allow you to just press the direct dial key, every provider I know of has you enter the extention

Why are these systems so limited?!!?! I expected to be able to have the he same functionality as with my old system. Man the basics are left out! Maybe it works for people who have never had a professional phone system but for us we have lost so much customization and functionality.

What features have you lost?

The one I described. Being able to create a line key shortcut for everyone's voicemail that the receptionist could hit transfer then the voicemail button for that extension. No call queue for reception. We have almost 50 users so it is not efficient for our many receptionists to know all extensions by heart or have a list taped on their desk. I can live with the voicemail transfer issue but not the intercom. They use that to quickly locate someone in the office and check their availability. It's so slow pressing intercom then dialing the extension. Worst decision ever to migrate to ring central.

For any functionality that you would like to see developed, the best thing to do is submit a new "idea request" here one the Community using the instructions on this page:  How do I submit a request for a new Idea or Feature?

All idea requests are reviewed by our product team on a regular basis.  Be sure to include as much detail  as possible and a use case scenario so our product team has a full understanding.  Also, this will allow other Community users to see and understand the request and vote (click the Like button) for your request. The more interest there is, the more likely it is to get developed.
