8.3.6 Desktop App Crashing

Since installing the latest update, 8.3.6, several of our desktop apps have been crashing.  I called support and they were not able to resolve the issue (case # 05472560).  I received an email from a support tech named Rachel Lenderink instructing me to rollback to version 8.2.1.  I have done that.  What concerns me is what happens on 02/28.  I can't use the latest update because of crashing and the version that is working now will be discontinued.   Am I going to lose all communication capabilities?
Ringcentral has closed my case but I will be calling again to open new one. Note: This conversation was created from a reply on: February Feature Release.

I opened another case for you.  05507204 as rolling back is not a long term solution.

UPDATE

Certain users (on versions 8.0.x and below) have older graphic cards on their machines and are incompatible with the latest version of desktop app. Thus, some of the users in these groups cannot upgrade to latest version of the app. When they attempt to do so, the desktop app will crash.  We will have an older version still available for use by these customers.

For users unable to use 8.3.6 or above here are the download links for 8.0.6

I've tried this and it works. But we really just need the next update to fix these problems...

If a version is discontinued it generally means that no support or revisions are afforded that version. It does not mean that the application will quit working however.

Jan is Correct,  8.2.1 will still work for quite some time.  Every now and then, we'll send out an email to all admins telling them if a certain version will stop working but it's pretty rare.

This was in an email that I received from RC on 02/17/2017.  It specifically states that versions prior to 8.3.6 will no longer work.

My apologies.  You are correct.  They've bumped it to 8.3.6 as you stated. Can you please try to install the latest version again?  We are almost done pushing 9.0 to all accounts.  If the problem continues let us know.
