Could I have a sound alert for texts as I do when a patient calls?

US acct, no related case;   I have the RC App on my cell phone - when texts come into the phone for the RC app, it does not give me a sound alert...is it possible to set this up so that I could have a sound alert as I do when a patient calls? thanks,

James,

What make, model and operating system of phone do you have? It seems to me that is a function of your phone, not of RingCentral. As long as you are receiving the texts, the noise made to alert you to it comes from your phone...not the app.

I had used RingCentral's mobile app on a series of Android phones for the past six years and I always received my default text tone on the phone when I received a text message in the app. I now have an iPhone 7 Plus (since February) and similarly I receive a default text tone when I receive a text in my RingCentral app.

Jan is correct - it's a function of the OS of the device RC APP sits on. I have an iPhone, it is located in Notifications.

That is correct, we are an answering service for hundreds of Doctors and I have had to walk more than one through the way to set up notifications.
