Sherry,

RingCentral's Windows Desktop app does this already. See my screen shots below (Note: I have redacted all personal information from the screens).

When the fax is first submitted it will show as "Fax submitted" but WITHOUT the number of pages.

When the application actually makes contact with the recipient's phone number, it will now show as "Fax submitted (# of pages)", where it will show the actual number of pages in the fax.

If the fax is successfully sent it will show as "Fax sent (# of pages)", as seen in the bottom faxes in this screen shot. If the fax is NOT successfully sent (as in this case where I sent to it a non-fax capable number), the number or name associated with the fax will show in red text versus the black text for other names/numbers. It will also show as "Fax failed (# of pages)".

I hope this assists you in what you are asking for. The only thing it won't show is an actual "page 1 sent, page 2 sent, etc. like a "traditional" fax machine will do.

It would also be nice to be able to convert an incoming fax from a phone call back to a fax.

Ex: I accidentally picked up with looked like an incoming phone call. The client's fax machine didn't have the proper protocol set up on their end for ring central to recognize it as a fax, so the soft-phone popped up a window that looked like a phone call. When I answered it, all I could do is hang up. There wasn't a way to manually pass it back into the system to allow the fax to come through.
This lead to confusion with the client & they had to resend the fax a second time (not the end of the world, but not a great user interaction with our company).

Shannon,

That has been the bane of fax reception since the dawn of fax machines. I used to do it when all we had was a traditional fax machine...before emails or VoIP capabilities.

But I agree, that sure would be a nice feature.

I forgot to mention that when you receive a fax, it will show up as "Fax received (# of pages)" and the message will be in blue text.
