Extend the time when dialing a number

If I am dialing an area code and phone number by touch I cannot get through it without a voice coming on saying it doesn't recognize that extension. Is there a setting to do away with that? Thank you

We need a way to extend this timeout setting also....I know that we can use the workaround of dialing first then lifting the handset, but this is a hard habit to break and this issue is really frustrating my boss...it's way too short of a timeout duration before we get that message
