Desktop App: Click to Dial Support

When using the RingCentral Softphone on Windows 7, it will allow clicking a phone number in a web browser (i.e. Chrome) to auto-dial with the softphone. This makes it very helpful for large call volume using an online CRM (such as Microsoft Dynamics). Unfortunately, on Windows 8 the feature no longer works. Windows offers to associate Sykpe, Lync, and other programs with the Click-to-Dial functionality but the RingCentral Softphone app is conspicuously absent.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled browser addin for one click dialing phone number which appears on web page?. RingCentral for Windows feature request. It would be nice to have a browser addin for the top 3 browsers - similar to what the RingCentral Softphone had for IE.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Chrome click to dial plugin. It would be grate to have a click to dial plugin for Chrome so that you can click on a number in your browser and your IP phone would ring and pre-dial that number for you. This would be a great way to save time in manually dialing phone numbers from our CRM / customer database.
I think RC used to have it on Windows but it seems that application has been discontinued. I'm a mac user anyhow.

As an example, see these plugins:

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Click number in safari, process via RingOut on Softphone.. So - we use the RingCentral softphone to RingOut all our calls to a landline. We use a CRM to keep track of our clients' particulars. When I click an email address in the CRM, it opens my email app, as you'd expect. When I click a phone number, I get a URL in my Safari browser +skype:[phone number]. I would love to somehow change this to have my browser know to send to RingCentral instead. Any ideas anyone? Thanks very much

Take this out for a spin, it is a proof of concept rightnow but should be a fully working click to dial extension.

Is there a general update for this? I am still using the Softphone version 6.05 specifically so that I can click to call TEL: links from my CRM, and have it launch RingOut.

Now the smartphone app says it MUST be upgraded. Any update on the CALLTO: or TEL: click to dial functionality if I upgrade?

The Legacy Softphone has been retired as of this week and is no longer supported. Please uninstall the Legacy and install the new RingCentral for Desktop.

Under Settings, the Softkey's can be customized.
