Fax: Add Preview & Edit option prior to sending fax in Desktop App

The current version of the RingCentral Desktop Application recently added (v. 7.1.xx) does not allow you to preview the entire fax prior to it being sent to a recipient(s).

Version 5.16.xx of the old desktop application had an "Edit" button (see attached image) that would allow you to preview the entire fax. This would give u us to save the fax to our client file prior to sending.

With the new version Desktop App (7.1.xx) added the ability to preview just the fax cover sheet (using MS Word? Why?), but not the other attachments, or complete fax being sent to the recipient. Why remove this feature/function in your application?

Our request is to please reinstate the old "Edit" button/Preview feature on your Desktop Application so you can see the entire fax. This is an important part of our workflow when documenting what was sent to the customer. Having to login to the RingCentral website, login to your account, navigate to the sent fax area and then finding the particular fax to print (file) it from the website is cumbersome, time consuming and too many steps.

By the way... it would be very nice if the preview would include all of the contact information (Receiver and Senders) on the cover page! Your older Desktop Application (pre-version 5.xxx) did that as well!

I really miss this feature. I could open a fax sent to me, preview it and annotate it and then re-send it.

I recently sent something to be faxed from Word and then got side-tracked before selecting recipient. I went to send another fax and saw I already had an attachment. Of course I could not open it to preview what was attached and I couldn't remember who I was supposed to fax to. I hate that this feature is not in the new RC

Following numerous updates since this feature request was submitted, the "Preview" (or Edit) of faxes is still not available on the most recent version of the Desktop App.

Now... the older versions which allow fax preview (edit) have been intermittently NOT working and tech support is saying the reason is compatibility problems with the old version.

What is the ETA on having Fax Preview on the new Desktop App?

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled REVIEW SCANNED DOCUMENT BEFORE SENDING. ring central needs to put the feature back on the desktop app where you can click the icon to view your scanned documents. this was a feature on the old app and needs to be updated to this new app asap or im finding me a new carrier.

I can no longer preview a fax before it is sent and I also lost the tab I had in Word that would let me fax straight from Word. I now have to print to ring central which then messes up the settings for the next document I print. Also, I am unable st send a fax to the attention of someone without addind an entire cover page. So frustrating!

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Fax: Ability to edit attachments via Desktop App. With the softphone software once you attached a file to your fax you were able to double click the attachment and it would open in editor which would allow us to add text and other information. We use our fax system to receive orders from our customers, once the order is entered into our system we then reply to the fax, edit the original document by adding the confirmation number, Estimated Shipping date and any other important information our customer may need to know.

With the new Desktop Application this task is no longer available. Yes we could use a separate piece of software to perform this task but that adds time. When you are replying to 200+ faxes a day every second counts. Please add this feature back in

also the ability to sign the faxes is also gone in the new updated version????
