Shared Lines: Polycom Soundpoint IP 560

Please add the Polycom Soundpoint IP 560 to the phone compatibility list with Shared Lines. There is not a valid reason in my opinion why the older Polycom Soundpoint IP 550 is compatible and the 560 is not.

Hi Lenus,  Thanks for your post.  Our Product Team will review this request. I'm not sure if they plan on adding more phones to this list. We'll probably maintain a fairly limited list of phones that support this feature as using "shared lines" is generally not recommended for most businesses. Although we understand there are situations where the feature can be very useful, enable this feature has a negative impact, or eliminates the following features:

Personal Voicemail
Call handling
Conference Bridge
SMS
FAX
RC Meetings
Receiving Intercom
Receiving Phone Paging

Understood, just does not make any sense the the older version of the same phone is supported and the newer version is not.

Any update on whether the Polycom SPIP560 will be supported for shared lines? I still don't understand why the top phones in their respective model type (Soundpoint IP and VVX) are not supported for Shared Lines. The SPIP560, SPIP670, and VVX600 are all missing from the supported phones list and they are all virtually the same phone as the next version down, SPIP550, SPIP650, and VVX500.

Is there any way to get an update on this issue from the Product team? How long does it usually take?

Hello Lenus,   Sorry, but our Product Team is unable to reply to every post here on the Community. We receive dozens of Idea and Feature Requests daily.  I assure you our Product Team does review all requests and they receive regular reporting.  There are months of planning and prioritization involved with every new feature being developed or new hardware being supported. Sorry there is no ETA at this time.
