Desktop app: transfer voicemails from one extension to another

We would love it if there was a way to transfer voicemails from one extension to another.  Can the engineers work on implementing this?

This is already a feature. When you want to send a voice mail to someone else's ext - just follow the prompts

Oh my goodness!  Thank you gentlemen!  Customer support said that it was not yet a feature on RingCentral

Sorry, for the confusion or miscommunication. When using a deskphone, you can do as Claudio & Rob mentioned.  Option 5 will allow you to enter an extension. However if you are using RC Desktop, you can't simply transfer the voicemail, but you can download the mp3 and email it to someone.

This definitely should be an idea for RC Desktop SoftPhone, features should be equivalent for both devices. Let's simplify the life of the customers! (Of course the Softphone could handle more features than a rigid Deskphone, but at least should be contain the same functionalities...)

Please LIKE in the upper right corner if you would like to see this feature added: to have the ability to fwd vm's from one ext to another via the Softphone Desktop App.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Transfer voicemail to a different extension. I can't be the only person in the world that delegates or needs to transfer voice mails.  Why isn't there a way to forward a voicemail to another extension when using the Ring Central for Windows app?  I use the app exclusively to check voice mails but I can't forward them to my staff.  Any suggestions?

I agree.  There should be an option to transfer the VM to another user with a click or two.

I agree, this would be very useful.  I have about 60 messages saved at any time, and if I accidentally save the message through my desk phone, I would have to cycle through every message until I heard it again to forward to an extension.  If I could send it from the desktop app, it would save a lot of time.

Yes please add this functionality. When I get a voice mail on my cell phone, it gives me an option to transfer it to another phone number, the RC softphone should offer the same functionality.

Downloading the voice file and attaching via email violate HIPAA secuirty and privacy rules. So in my business (medical) we cannot do that. Xfering VM is a must have feature. Thansks!

We really need the ability to transfer a voicemail.  As Choudhuri pointed out, we can not email a message as it would violate HIPAA.

Is this still not possible? We are new to RC and really need to be able to transfer voicemails to other extensions.

I guess the more interesting question is, how is this not available?  I asked this same queston over 2 years ago and received the same response you gave.  Yet, nothing has happened.  With the advent of Glib, this should be even easier.  Why can I just message them the voicemail.  We don't want the messages sent via email.

Hello WALTON,

We have not received an ETA on if/when this feature may become available. If I do hear something, I will update this thread :) If you are not HIPAA compliant then the workaround is to email the VM attachment.

Hello Group,

We get dozens of requests daily and currently have well over 1,000 open feature requests here on the Community.  There is a constant planning and prioritization process going on and of course our Product Team must direct resources to the features that help the most users. Rest assured they do read the comments here so it does help to always include a use case scenario and explain the impact/benefit to your business.
