Phones & Devices: Add "Existing Phone" for 3rd Party Phone to be added under Unassigned

Looking to add a third party bought phone to the unassigned list in my company account. When I try to add it, it wants to assign it to a user/ext. I don't want to do that as I have to set these up first before mailing it to them (firmware, etc.). They already have existing phones and these will be upgrades. I don't want to have the user have to manually provision them once they get them. Any idea on how to do this?

Currently the only way to add a 3rd party device is to add an  Existing Phone to an extension.  You can setup an extension for "extra phones" and add them there if you don't want to assign them to specific users yet.   I will convert this Question to an Idea to be submitted and reviewed as a Feature Request.
