Is the RingCentral smartphone app using Wifi / Data or Cellular service?

Is the RingCentral App using my cellular service or the Data/Wifi to make calls? I'm looking to install the app on a phone that doesn't get cell service (just wifi) and I want to be certain it will still be able to make and get calls.

Chuck,
I'm not sure if this is related to the question above or not but I would like to know if a pocket wfi type internet box will work with the RC Desktop app?  If so what are those requirements and what are the recommended options for that.  Like for instance I have a Verizon Wireless mifi box that I pay for on my cell phone bill each month.  Would that be something would be compatible in order to use the desktop app for RC?  Thank you Becky

It should.  Not sure on the speed because VOIP is sensitive to network bandwidth etc...

But I guess the best way is to try and see if the call quality is acceptable

Thanks

Chuck
