I switched to RingCentral, in large measure, because I was promised that its great Android app would allow me to make calls from my main number from my cell phone and respond to voice mail, etc. The app has been garbage. I can listen to voice mail, but if I use it to make an outgoing call, I cannot use the keypad or any other phone function. So I cannot navigate voice mail, auto-attendants or even hang up the phone! (To hang up, I must shut down my phone, literally.)
I first reported this problem to Tier 3 tech support in July. I was told it was a problem with an LG driver and it would be fixed within a few months. It has not been fixed. When I call tech support, I get the runaround. Promises that supervisors will return my call go unfulfilled and it is clear that nobody is taking responsibility for this issue. In fact, it has become clear that it is very unlikely RingCentral will address this issue. As a result of the problem with the app and awful customer service, I have begun investigating alternative providers. If anyone has a suggestion, please share it.
