Netgear GS 105E for QoS for unrecommended routers

I'd like to know if I can use a Netgear GS105E Gigabit Smart Switch to manage QOS so that I can keep my Apple Airport Extreme router. The Airport Extreme router does not provide QoS, but the GS105E does.
