What can be done to reduce the lag inherent in the RingCentral system?
The RC phone system works quite well, but we've always noticed a considerable lag. For example, if we're on a GoToMeeting (but connected to audio through the phones), the delay between somebody speaking on their webcam and us finally hearing their audio is amazingly long (especially given that the much heavier video payload has to make its way to and from Citrix's servers). I don't expect them to be perfectly in sync with one another, but the lag is long. Furthermore, and in general, this delay just means that normal, socially-acceptable pauses (to wait for feedback, etc.) isn't long enough. By the time you hear the other party's response, you're often moving on to the next topic. I'm guessing this has more to do with RC's servers than anything, because it's pretty even across the board, regardless of where in the country (ie. different nodes and paths across the public internet) the callers are located.
