cannot view received fax from iPad

I am not able to view a received fax on the iPad app. I can view the fax file on my computer via the website, but when I try to view it on the iPad I get a dark gray screen. I also tried to send the file to myself via email, and I get an attached PDF file. However, it cannot be opened. any ideas on how to resolve this problem?
