Dial by name ... my users have 2 character first names (and customers don't know their last name)

Dial by name does not allow for users with only 2 letters in their first name. We have multiple people named Ed, Le (not Lee), etc. If you just enter the first 2 characters, eventually you are prompted to start over. Is there a special key to hit to tell the system you are done entering characters for the user's first name?
