Intercom setup.

When I intercom another extension that extension will beep and automatically pick up on the speaker phone.  How can I get it to just ring and only connect when the other extension picks up the phone?

why not just CALL that extension?!  that totally defeats the purpose of intercom.

We have call recording set up.  When we dial an extension we have to listen to the recorded call message before connecting.  Is there a way around this?  The way it's setup right now someone can dial an extension and listen to all conversations in the room without the knowledge of the person on that extension with the exception of a small beep when connecting.  Thanks for the quick reply Dustin.

I've experienced the same thing with Intercom, the only thing I've found is to disable my line from accepting intercom calls.

The way around the recording message is to go into the settings and upload a file that is a quarter second of silence.
