How are calls to and from Hawaii charged?

Hi Everyone!

I'm looking for information on how calls to and received from Hawaii are charged.

I currently have a toll free number, and one that is local to my area in Canada. I routinely call out from my softphone to other Canadian and US locations using my local number, but am wondering how/if I can avoid charges for a call to Hawaii as the call will be at least 90 minutes long.
