Can't Make A Call From Softphone Beta

I am using the latest softphone but I can't seem to make calls with my computer (and use a computer headset). Should I be able to do this?

Yes you should be able to.  You note this is beta softphone though so I would contact the representative who provided you with the beta software and provide feedback on the problems you are having.  For general reference in case you may be missing some basic items here are a couple softphone articels that may be helpful to you.
