Softphone (Beta) Answer Call Hotkey

Is there a shortcut or hotkey to answer a phone call in the new softphone? It would be really helpful if we didn't have to use our mouse to click the 'answer' button.

So I have found a Hack around.   Hit f6 to bring into focus and then enter to answer the call. also if you are using a headset you can use autohotkey to translate the key press into this keyboard sequence.

Hotkeys would be great, but this workaround is great for now. Thank you.

This work-around does not solve our issue with answering calls with the soft-phone. When a call comes in, we can't answer by pointing our mouse to the answer button. Clicking the Enter button on the keyboard also does not work. Occasionally, pressing the F6 button and then Enter button repeatedly MAY answer the call. But, not always. Anyone else having this issue?

The "F6" key should bring the softphone to the front if you have multiple windows open and it's layered behind other windows, but, there's not an actual hot key to answer the call at this time. You won't be able to just point your mouse to the answer button like mentioned above, you'll still have to click the button.

DedeM - one of our users is having that same issue.  We haven't been able to figure it out either.

Shannon, If you haven't done so try to do shutdown/restart and if that doesn't work, do a reinstall.  Then let us know if you still have problems.

There is a setting that makes the soft phone come to the front of all windows.  If enter is pressed, it answers the call. It's worked for me so far, but it would be great to have hot keys for answer and hang up.

Seems a bit strange having a hot key for outgoing call and fax, but not answer call and end call! :-/ In my mind, the latter two would be much more useful.

Thank you for chiming in AJ.

DedeM,   As AJ stated you can use the "enter" key to answer a call if you wish, but you should always be able to click the button to answer. Is this something that just started? What troubleshooting steps have you taken?  When you restart your computer does it work? Have you tried to uninstall and reinstall the program?

Mike, this appears closely related to this community topic -  https://community.ringcentral.com/ringcentral/topics/how_can_i_answer_a_call_with_using_the_ringcent...  Lot's of comments and complaints on this thread - but seemingly no response from Ringcentral staff...

We're a new Ringcentral customer and overall we're very satisfied with the service and it all it's capabilities.

However, I'm very surprised there's no existing support for a hotkey that will answer the call for the softphone app.  Something ultimately that could be mapped to the equivalent answer function of a bluetooth headset - or really, just plain answer from the headset.  Pretty standard function across different vendor headsets, right?

About 75% of our users have chosen to abandon a hard phone set with the move to Ringcentral - pretty sure our org is not unusual in this.  As I'm one of the folks that have to support these users, I'm already getting questions on this.  Is there some near future where Ringcentral will provide the capability of answering a softphone call with a hotkey and/or with the answer function of a bluetooth headset?

Thanks for your support!

Hi Rick, you can answer the SoftPhone by pressing the Enter key.  If it's not layered on top of the other windows,  you may have to press F6 > Enter.

There is an option under settings that you can turn on so that the phone is always layered on top. Then you 'll just need to press "enter" .

If you go to Settings > General, you'll see there are currently just two hot key options for Outgoing call and Outgoing Fax, which by default are set to F6 & F8.    But the process Patrick explaned above is probably the best option. When you press F6 it brings the Softphone to the front if it's layered behind other windows.
