Communication Issues With Polycom SoundPoint IP 335 Phones

During any given call, at no certain time period, our system seems like we have hit the mute button. We can hear the caller on the other end but they cant hear us. This happens during the conversation for no apparent reason. It has been happening a lot in the last couple of weeks. We have had these phones for a few years now.

The other thing that happens quite often is that when retrieving an incoming call, we pick up the handset, say hello, and its like the call was automatically put on hold. And we cant hear anything, nobody can hear us and we cant seem to get it out of that mode - then the caller eventually hangs up.

Can you help us determine what the problem is?
