I am moving and must change DSL providers. How will this affect my RC phone service?

I currently have one phone line and always have it call forwarded to an answering service. I will have to cancel my current DSL and install another DSL service in my new location.

Short answer is you should be fine if the answering service physically takes the messages and does not have to traverse your current DSL.  If so, you should be able to just install the new DSL service then either keep your calls forwarded or then send them across your new DSL to your one phone line.

I'm not sure what that means, if it doesn't have to traverse the DSL service. I guess I don' t really understand the mechanics of it. But it sounds like the call forwarding can continue even while I am disconnecting and reconnecting phone line and DSL service, is that right? And then I just set up the digital phone set at the new location? Thanks. SH
