Spam calls to my personal phone since signing up with RingCentral

Since signing up with Ring Central a couple of weeks ago, I have started receiving spam calls, both voice and fax calls, on my personal cell phone. This is the number that I gave to the sales rep for my contact information. Prior to this I have NEVER received any spam calls on this number in 15 years. Now I'm getting several per day. The most likely reason is that some RC employee is selling these numbers to spammers. This is extremely frustrating and annoying. RC management needs to look into this ASAP and put a stop to it.

P.S. While writing this message I have received 3 spam calls.

Hi Chris,  Sorry for the issue are have with receiving spam phone calls. I've included a link below to the RingCentral privacy policy for you to review. As you will see, it is very limited and restrictive. It is most likely a matter of coincidence that you have started receiving spam on your personal number.

No way it's a coincidence. For all I know some tier 1 tech support guy is running a fax spam business out of his basement in Manila with all of the numbers he's harvesting from RC customers.

To be fair, I discovered that the issue was partly how I had configured RC. My cell phone was configured as a forwarding number during testing and I had not removed it. So thankfully the spammers apparently do not have my personal cell number and RC employees don't appear to be selling customer information. Unfortunately, there are spam calls coming into my RC local number. So, in any event, I'm still receiving unwanted spam calls.

I will say that after submitting a complaint to RC, I heard back very quickly from Carolyn Shmunis (the CEO's daughter I presume?) She had someone from the executive response team in touch with me very quickly. I spoke to him and ended up changing my local RC number. We'll see if that resolves the issue over the next days and weeks.
