Fax Paper Too Large When Printing at Recievers Fax Machine

When i try sending a fax, the person recieving the fax is forced to load larger paper than the standard 8 1/2x 11. I am sending files that are standard size in Microsoft word. Any ideas why it is faxing/printing on larger paper?

This sounds like a setting on the recipients fax/printer that needs changed. Do you know what kind of machine they are printing from? Is it a traditional fax, or a modern printer/fax/copier?

Most people are using a modern printer/fax/copier these days and when you print a document there will generally be a print setting screen with setting similar to below. Have them  look for the settings (or similar settings) as shown below.
