How To Reduce Fax Transmission Time

Though I do understand that the fax isn't exactly a cutting-edge technology, how can I reduce the time it takes to deliver a fax?

My software triggers an outbound fax via the RC API, and it usually takes only a few seconds to reach the RC outbox.  But then it often takes about 4-7 minutes for the fax to leave the outbox.

What can I do to speed this way up?

Hi Matt, there aren't really any settings or changes you can simply make to speed up the delivery time, other than making sure your local network doesn't have any bottle necks.  Internet faxing is a bit different than sending a fax with the older analog machines.  Like sending an email there could be network bottlenecks anywhere between you, and the recipient and although some faxes will come through quickly, other times they may take a few minutes just like sending email.

A good place to start just to make sure there's not something on your end is to double check your local network. You can run the test on this page:  http://www.ringcentral.com/support/capacity.html
