iPhone VoIP app - turn off screen during call

When I use the VoIP app on my iPhone, I keep accidentally hitting buttons on the screen with my cheek.  Is there a way to have the screen automatically turn off like normal iPhone calls will do when you hold the phone up to your ear?

It actually seems to be working now. Not sure why it wasn't previously.
