Survey of Audio Quality on RingCentral for Mac -- Mine is Poor

Please share your call quality experience with RingCentral for Mac.

In my case, the recipient of a call will often claim that the audio is dropped.  It occurs intermittently. I have good QOS statistics, and my partner who uses a desk phone does not have the issue.  Another partner using the softvphone on a separate ISP has similar cut out on audio.

I have not been satisfied with the support from RingCentral as they never seem to resolve the problem, but have plenty of time to carry your concern through their call system.

Hi Bob, Are you strictly using the softphone on the Mac? I can't say that I've seen anything specific to Macs and call quality. This is almost always a network related issue, however we can see if anyone else chimes in.

If you and your partner with the deskphone are on the same network, and the deskphone is fine, then it's logical to look at the Mac, as you are doing.  What sort of headset/microphone are you using? and how is the Mac connected to the network? Is it using wifi, or is it actually plugged into an ethernet cable?

I am strictly using softphone on the Mac, as is my remote partner.

We have two separate networks, and the QOS is fine.

During my conversation with RingCentral's Executive Response Team earlier today I was told that there is a similar problem with the Mac version and that an update has been scheduled to, in theory, resolve the problem in the near future.   I cannot say if this related to your problem nor would I recommend holding your breath, but that was what I was told.

The audio issue happens whether I use the Jabra bluetooth, plugged in ear buds or speaker.
The audio issue happens whether I use ethernet or wifi.
