Hi Weston,   I think the question is a little to vague to answer. What kind of setup or cordless phone are you referring to? Sound quality on the mobile app can definitely vary depending on the quality of the 3G/4G signal or the wi-fi connection.  Cordless phones can also vary quite a bit depending on their frequency and outside interference.

Mike,

We presently use RC via our iPhones (4 max at a time) using a very strong wi-fi connection, with a properly configured ASUS Dark Knight router. When we receive an email, or another call comes in, it disrupts the present call. We are considering purchasing the Yealink phones you sell.  Prior to purchasing, I want to ensure the call quality will be much better. Your thoughts?

We have a lot of customers using the Yealink phones and getting good sound quality, but before you buy one, I would recommend taking a closer look at your network.  Most sound quality issues tend to come from the network rather than the phone. From what you described there's a likely network issue that probably needs dealt with.  Receiving an email shouldn't interrupt a call that is in place.

Check your routers documentation and make sure the QoS is enabled so that it prioritizes voice packets. Or if you jump to page 8 on this link there's information on the ASUS RT-N66U Dark Knight Router:   RingCentral Router Configuration

Then, you'll want to run a quality test which can find here:   Test Your Connection's Quality

And also a speed/bandwith test here:  Test Your Connection's Capacity

All network configurations are correct. After speaking to the staff, what happens is if they are on a RC call via ringout, and a caller comes in dialing their cell # direct, it auto places the RC call on hold, which pushing the cell call through.

I think the Yealink phones may solve this issue. How much for the system with 3 handsets?

This page shows the pricing:  http://www.ringcentral.com/office/voip-phone.html
But, I would recommend contacting your account rep to see if there is any special pricing, leasing or other options that would benefit you.

Hey Weston, we recently deployed a cordless Yealink phone and it works really good at and around the girl's desk.  However, when she walks out of the suite or in the vast corners of the suite, we do get interference.  I tested the phone at my home, before deploying, and I got fantastic reception and call quality all over the home, in the yard, at my neighbors, etc.  So the phone is awesome but the building we are in really sucks when it comes to interference.  Many employees and customers also get interference and poor reception with different cell carriers.  My 5 cents is to make sure the area(s) that the phone will be used in is not overly saturated with interference and make sure you locate a safe place for the base so that it is close to both the phone set and the network.

Danno, thank you for the helpful information. Does your company subscribe to a plan with HD voice, or do you know if this is even necessary for the Yealink units? Thanks again.
