Computer Crashes

Whenever I try to log on to (or create) a video chat my computer will crash every time without fail, is there a software that i need to download?

Cole, is your computer crashing or a RingCentral program?

Hello Cole, 

Are you referring to the RC Meeting application?  If so you the first thing to do is try to uninstall, and reinstall the software to make sure you don't have a bad download.  After uninstalling it you can re-download it by logging into your account and clicking the link shown below. 



When reinstalling the software, be sure to watch prompts that your security software might possibly present, and be sure to allow, or give permission for the software to run. 

If this does not resolve your problem please provide more details.

mike, i uninstalled and reinstalled and it did the same thing. i did not reinstall it the way you showed though because i could not find that link. where do i find this link?

Cole,  To access the link shown above, you need to log in to your account on  http://www.ringcentral.com/ and then click the "tools" link like shown in the image posted above.

I found this link and reinstalled it and my computer crashed again when i attempted to start a meeting, is there any other way of going about this?

Hi Cole,   The app should not cause the computer to crash.  Can you provide some details on what exactly is happening?  Does the PC just freeze? Are there any error messages?   

Also, If you leave the software uninstalled and then open other programs, (video conferencing, or other memory intensive programs) does it still crash?  This could be a memory problem on the computer.

The computer gives me a ":(" and tells me "something went wrong" and then my computer restarts itself. This does not come up as a notification though, it fills up the screen and then shuts off. I am the only person in my office that this happens to, so i agree that it shouldn't, but is there any thing you can think of that may resolve this?
