Can someone send an inbound fax via email?

I was wondering if someone could scan and email a fax to my fax number? I know that when using FaxOut with Ring Central you use their fax # @ rcfax.com, I was wanting to know if you could do it the opposite way.

We have people wanting to send us stuff that don't have fax machines and we were wondering if this was possible.

Thanks!

Travis it depends on the service the sender is using. If it's some sort of similar e-fax type service, then there's a chance they can do it similar to the same way you can send a fax through your email client. The sender will just have to check with their provider.  Otherwise, I recommend the same think Danno suggested.  Just have them email it instead. That way the data does not go through the email/fax conversion process and you'll get better quality documents.

I was wondering the same, why just send the email to email and the quality will be better... Then I though, maybe Travis needs some sort of automatic printing at the Fax Machine point...
In that case we could explore automatic printing from email... and keep a basic/old computer for that only purpose... Or use some of those printer/fax/scanner that comes with an email account for universal direct printing... Well, is something just Travis can elucidate...

Why not just have them email the document?  Certainly would be a better resolution document when emailed.
