Route calls back to company greeting after receptionist does not pick up

We are now forwarding all the company phone calls to our receptionist. I would like to ask how she can forward back to the company's greeting when she goes out to lunch.

That depends on your set up.  When she is at lunch, is it an AA greeting that plays allowing callers to direct their own calls?

Hello,

You cannot forward an extension back to the main number.  But you can create a call queue and route call through there. Have it route to the Receptionist 1st, and then if she doesn't answer within X amount of time, then it rolls over to the next member.

My Boss doesn't want to rolls over to the next member and he just wants it to be back to the company general greeting.

He may have been misinformed, but so are you. If you navigate to the Auto-Receptionist Module in your Ring Central Admin Portal, open Company Call Handling, under "Company Hours" select "Bypass greeting to go to extension", and select the extension of the receptionist, all calls will be routed directly to your receptionist during your predefined company hours. To set up your company's custom greeting to play while the receptionist is on lunch, click "Advanced" in the upper-right hand corner of the Company Call Handling module. In the newly opened Advanced Call-Handling window click "Add Rule". Name your rule accordingly (I named ours "Lunch Rule") and select "Date and/or Time" under the "Base custom rule on the following condition" section and click "Next". Select the days of the week he/she (receptionist) works, and input the time of day she will be away for lunch and click "Next", then click "Next" again. Here you may select "Play Company Greeting" and if you have your company's custom greeting uploaded, you can select that greeting, or, select the default greeting. Hope this helps!

I was told that your company is going to develop this feature. Is that correct?

Chris - I believe this is in question to having the calls route back to the main number (and the company greeting) after the call has already been routed to the receptionist extension. At this time you cannot have a user extension forward back to the main number.
