I should be able to record custom greetings with the Ring Central Call me feature having it call my Ring Central phone

I'm trying to record the group names and mail box greetings and hold messages.  There is a call me feature to have Ring Central call me so that I can just record the message via the phone.  I put in a call me at this number (which is my Ring Central desk phone), and I receive the message: Sorry we are not able to connect to that number at this time. Please try a different number or use a different upload option.
As you can imagine this looks like your product cant work with itself.  Very bad.
If this service is purely for recording messages, there shouldn't be any chance for phone loops since you are calling me and not me calling me.
Thanks for your help.

You need to reach out to tech support.  There is something wrong somewhere.  I can assure you I have never had any issues recording names and/or greetings on my account in 3+ years via the ring me feature.  But, please post back when they locate the issue for the rest of us in the RCC.

Thanks Danno (it sounds so weird saying that as I go by that too).
The funny thing is, tech support sent me here when I called them (from my RC phone) regarding this issue.

You're phone has never registered with our system and needs to be online in order for our system to call it. Work with the support engineer to get your device registered and this should work for you.

Thanks Justin,  So the softphone wont do this, I have to have the physical phone and register that first?

You don't have to "call me at" just to a RC phone.  You can do it to any number.  Just enter it in the field below - I think the field says 'enter a new number'.

In this scenario, the number you are entering is the phone number that is associated as the registration number for your VVX 310 device. Since it has never registered, our system sees that and will fail in calling that number for recording purposes. Once it is registered, our system will be able to call it and if you are logged into your softphone under the same extension (I believe you are), then your softphone will ring as well so you can record via the softphone too at that point.

@Danno, Yes it does have that field and I was using it as it defaults to the admin phone number which I wasnt remotely near so I put my softphone in.  I can use my cell or another phone, but got concerned when i couldnt use the new phone.

@Justin, Ok that helps clear up the picture.  Our office is moving in a week+ so the physical unit wont be setup till post the move.  Can you put in a request for enhancement to allow activated softphones to perform this along with physical?

Thanks Guys
