iPhone 6 app answers automatically & hangs up phone call

I just completely switched to ringcentral...almost doubting the switch now. I have an office phone and I use my cell phone with the ringcentral app. Today was the first day things have switched fully but I've had multiple times today where I call my business line and it rings, the app on the phone automatically answers it or something because the person calling can be heard and then it hangs up the call. Then when they call back it works. I'm now deleting the app and trying it with call forwarding but this is a major issue that is causing some problems for my business.

Any ideas?

I've never that happen to me (I also have a iP6) and get about 20 calls a day on my phone.  Be interested to see if it stops post APP de-install.

Hi Nick, It's a little tough to say based on the information above.  For something like this, it might be best to give us a call and one of our reps can help troubleshoot over the phone. Generally you have to go through the settings on the online account as well as the mobile app. There are a combination of things that have to be set up just right.

I did call and chat with someone but they really had no clue of the issue. I will play with it myself and see what comes of it.

When is the last time you did a hard reboot to the iPhone?  Try that...
  1. Press and hold the Home button (big circle below the screen) and the Sleep/Wake button (on top of the iPhone) simultaneously.
  2. Hold both buttons until the iPhone shuts off and begins to restart.
  3. Let go when you see the silver Apple logo appear on screen.

I ended up reinstalling the app and it seems to be working. I also did a hard reset after that and it's still working. It acts a little funny though since you have to open the app and keep it running in the background in order for it to ring on my iPhone.

Also it takes about 5-10 seconds for it to ring on my main line at the office. Is there anyway to shorten that time?

I wanted to follow up with this and say that I'm having issues with the app like I normally did but I've pinpointed it down to when my cars bluetooth is connected and I receive a ringcentral call sometimes the call answers automatically. Today it happened and I was driving and could hear someone breathing through my speakers(creepy) and I said hello and it was a call that had come in through my ringcentral app. This doesn't happen with regular calls.

Hello Nick, Does it only do this when connected to a bluetooth device? Can you try to reinstall the app and reboot the phone.  If the problem still exists let us know.

Happened again yesterday. Only when connected to bluetooth have I had this issue. Toyota Tundra 2010. Just reinstalled and did hard reset on phone...I guess we'll see how this goes.

Hi Nick, we currently do not support any of the automotive bluetooth features, but, I can see how it would definitely be useful.  A better thread to request this on would be here:  Provide support for headsets and bluetooth devices
