Can't fax from Quickbooks Online

Sending faxes from Quickbooks using <fax_number>@ rcfax.com does not work.  Sending fax from email DOES work; and faxing from Outlook works, but faxing from QBO does NOT work.

I've added the 'from' address used by QBO ( quickbooks-email@intuit.com) to the allowed list in the outbound fax settings.

This is a pretty big problem for me, so any suggestions would be appreciated.

Try to delete the e-mail address under outbound fax settings, save it as blank, then re-add it.

Does the Quickbooks program send all other emails OK?

Do you get any bounceback messages in the Quickbooks email ?  If so, they often tell the reason for the failure.

You might have to check with Intuit on this one but here are a couple more things to try. In the Quickbooks program, go into the outgoing email server settings and try changing the outgoing port from 25 to 587 or vise versa. Also, in the email security settings there's probably a SSL setting, you can try turning that on or off and testing again.

This is Quickbooks Online .. those settings are not available.
The QBO Audit Log shows that the message was sent.
Sending an invoice to my email works correctly, but sending to fax_number@rcfax.com does not work.  I do receive the CC via email, however.

Can you verify the file type that it's trying to attach?  Also, what is the file name?

One example would be Comanche-Invoice-20151003.pdf; obviously it's a pdf file.
Sending the file as an attachment from Outlook works correctly.
I have selected HTML email and attach as PDF in QBO.

Does the system allow you to change the file names before sending them? If so try renaming the file and do not use any hyphens or other special characters.
