Recording Conference Calls

You are supposed to be able to record a conference call using *9. Technical support keeps telling us this will workand it's listed as a conf call command, but it does not work. How do you get a conf call line that allows recording? *9 only works on Ring Out, it does not work for conf calls.

Beth - that case was closed.  I created a new one for you ( Case # 04165522) and escalated it for further troubleshooting.  I was able to duplicate it on my end via softphone as well.

Did you see if it works on a hardphone? I want to test to see if the issue is only related to Softphone or Hardphone, or all channels are not working.

You should see the new case in your case history.  Feel free to "Add Comments" with any additional information that will go directly to the case owner.

By softphone, do you mean a cell phone?  We have testing from Chicago landline, my cell phone, a landline and cell phone in Minnesota and a landline and cell phone in Portland.

No one using the conf lines below can record.  We can use things like #*5 to mute callers, but when you press *9, it doesnt do anything.

Let us know.  We have 85 interviews set up and we need to record them.

Softphone means the Desktop App.  So if you are using your cell phone, are you using the cell phone RingCentral App?

no, we just call into the conf line and host the call.  Do we need the app to dial the conf line for some reason?  I also don't undertand how to call the conf line from the desktop.  We use ring out on the desktop, but we never just call the conf line from the desktop.

You can dial the conference info directly from the cell app. Please download the RingCentral cell phone app for Android or iPhone.

Here is how to dial in through the Desktop App:
