I have set a custom voicemail greeting but when I just tried testing it on the phone it is not playing my custom message. How do I fix this?

Further details: I uploaded the file yesterday, and hit save. When I hit the play preview it plays just fine on the web portal. However, when I just tested it today it rang all the phones it was supposed to; but it just said "Columbus Office" rather than playing the custom greeting.

Alyssa,

This sounds like a simple configuration issue. I'm a little confused though when you say it's a custom voicemail greeting but when you tested it you state that it rings all the phones it was supposed to.

A voicemail message should be the last message a caller hears when they have reached a certain person/phone/extension. For example, "Hello...you have reached the voicemail of Alyssa Griffin. I'm sorry I'm not available but at the tone please leave me a message. I'll get back to you as soon as I can."

If you are instead referring to a company greeting or a greeting for a particular Advanced Calling Rule, then you should upload the file to that particular location.

I would first check to see if you uploaded the greeting to a voicemail extension. If it's supposed to be for a company greeting and it's in a voicemail extension then it's in a wrong location.

Check for any Advanced Calling Rules or IVR menu settings which should be using the different message. More than likely it is set for the default. Since you stated that it says, "Columbus Office" my guess is that your custom message should be either in the company greeting or in an IVR menu, depending on how your company is set up.

How would I reach where the IVR settings are?

For our location [multi location company] it rings my desk first, if I fail to answer it rings two other people, if they don't answer it rings one more person before going to my voicemail. It is set as my voicemail greeting. Though it is set as my voicemail it registered 'Columbus Office'.

It sounds like you might have uploaded the file to the wrong location. There is a User Greeting and also a Voicemail Greeting. See screenshots below.

I set it as my voicemail message as per your screen shots.

As Jan described above, it sounds like you may want this as the Company Greeting instead of Voicemail greeting.
