Conference Calling: Allow an extension to dial in to my conference bridge as a participant

My company is a software and workflow consulting firm. We have regular conference calls with clients throughout the world.

I'd like to be able to setup extensions off our main number to dial directly into our conference bridge.

This would simplify joining a conference call for our participants. Our customers would only need to keep our main business number in their contact list. It's also frustrating that we can't have an unbranded conference bridge. All of our clients hear the Ring Central branding and we'd prefer they don't hear any brand other than ours.

My extension is 301.  I'd like to setup a second extension, 3301, to dial the conference bridge for 301 and automatically enter the participant code.  I've programmed my mobile to do something similar for the host code.

My cell dials  1-267-930-4000,xxx-xxx-xxx# and connects me directly as the host.

I'd like 3301 to effectively dial  1-267-930-4000,xxx-xxx-xxx# for my clients so they don't have to.

You can do this. (we have). All we did was set up an extension and have it forward to the conference bridge phone number

But you can't have it dial the participant code. At least, I haven't figured out how to include it.

No, you can't, and I don't think you'd be able to because the number of conference bridges people would use. The pins would change too often for a feature that limited.

So the host/participant codes associated with an extension change over time? That's potentially a problem for how we use our phones. We have a scheduling system in place that has each users' conference invitation hard coded in the email templates.

  1. The host/participant codes are only changed if an extension is deleted and re-created. Otherwise the stay the same for the user.
  2. For security reasons, each caller will need to dial the codes for each conference call they attend.  There is no way to override the codes so that the caller doesn't have to enter in the code.
  3. Regarding the RingCentral brand on the call, there is another feature request for this. Please see and LIKE here

if I setup 3301 to forward to the conference bridge, 267-930-4000, it sends you to the voicemail for x3301.

try a rule with an unconditional forward on that extension.

Turn VM off on that extension along with other items.

Let us know

Thanks

OK, turned off VM and all the messaging. I can get it to ring through to the RC conference line now. Still don't see a way to send the participant code and the RC branding still plays.

Would really be a great feature to add.
