Google Chrome Extension for Meeting

Hi,

Would it be possible to get the Zoom Extension for RS meetings?

Thanks

Just curious to what advantage there would be over the RingCentral chrome app that lets you schedule meetings?

Dan can you further clarify your question?   Are you just looking for video conference capability?  There's an integration with the Google Hangout feature that works quite well.

Hi Mike,

This if for the RingCentral meetings app, video, not just voice meetings. We are moving users over from join.me and at the moment they can set up a meeting from within their Google Calandar. The Zoom meetings app (Which RingCentral meetings is based on) has this plugin for Chrome for this very reason. You don't want to be going out to a separate app to schedule a meeting that includes a video call via RingCentral meetings.

Take a look at this link:  https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/zoom/kgjfgplpablkjnlkjmjdecgdpfankdle?hl=en-US and you can see how it works.

Thanks

Dan

Maybe I am still not understanding, but the RC chrome app lets you schedule a video/desktop/audio conference from inside it like this.  Maybe only through Google Calendar though.  So if you are not using Google Calendar you may not have the option.  Is that the issue?

Brandon, You're not misunderstanding, we just don't currently use the Chrome extension and I didn't realise that you could "make a Ringcentral" meeting from it inside a hangout. Guess it's time to roll it out!

Thanks for the input, very helpful.

Cheers

Now it's more understandable. RingCentral meetings denotes a screen sharing, visual meeting, while a RingCentral Voice Conference is what you are referring to above.

The screen shot Brandon supplied is for RingCentral meetings, not voice conferencing as you have deduced. However, if you use the 3rd icon up from the bottom (titled "Conferencing") you will note that you will be able to schedule within the Google Calendar from the conferencing scheduler.

See my screen shot below:

yes as I say I see that we can do it that way, it's just very messy compared to the native functionality of Zoom and Join.me

Very slow reply, sorry. It mostly works great, I like the fact i can do all the key tasks and make calls without leaving the browser.

The one thing it really lacks is deeper integration with Google Calendar, i.e the ability to natively schedule and then click a button that says "Make RingCentral Meeting" as you can do with Zoom meetings. At the moment, you have to look at your calendar, remember the time, set it up manually in the plugin and then schedule it.

Dan,

I agree with Brandon. The RC Chrome integration allows you to do exactly what you are requesting. If you click on the 4th icon from the bottom (the video camera icon) it will allow you to natively select a date, time, duration, etc. for a RingCentral video meeting. Then you simply have to click the "Invite with Google Calendar" and it will bring up the Google Calendar.

Your last sentence is what is confusing me.  Are you saying you'd like it to bring up your calendar for a given day first to be able to see what times you have available and then be able to schedule the meeting?

When I bring up your previous links they describe exactly what Brandon showed and described, and I summarized above.

Please help us understand what you mean by, "...deeper integration with Google Calendar, i.e the ability to natively schedule and then click a button that says 'Make RingCentral Meeting'..."
