Need Softphone Software Support for Windows XP

We are currently beta-testing 3 RingCentral lines in our company to see if we can implement company wide.  We have 22 workstations in our company that run on Windows XP and we need the RingCentral Softphone to work on these stations.  Tech support just informed me that Windows XP is not currently supported.  Please provide a solution that allows us to use the Softphone on Windows XP so we can add 22 more lines to our account.  There are millions of Windows XP users in the market regardless of the fact that Microsoft has ceased providing Windows XP updates.  Windows XP desktops are great business work-horses for call center environments.  Call centers are great multi-line customers for RingCentral.  RingCentral is losing business by not supporting Windows XP for the Softphone.  Please help!

Windows XP is not support by Microsoft anymore. We don't have plans to develop the application for an unsupported operating system. You can find the System Requirements under your Tools tab.

One possible work-around would be if you have the Google Chrome browser installed.  You can try installing the RingCentral Chrome extension, and then making/receiving calls through the browser.

Before installing the extension, first, see if you can update your Chrome browser.  I'm not sure what the latest version is that you'll be able to update because Google also stopped supporting Windows XP, so this may, or may not work but it's worth a try.

Thanks for the tip.  I tried your suggestion on a Windows XP desktop, and on a Windows 7 desktop.  I see the RingCentral Extension icon in the upper right side of the Google Chrome browser tool bar, but it is completely grey in color.  I clicked on Manage extensions and confirmed that the RingCentral Extension is Enabled.  When I click on the grey RingCentral  icon in either platform, nothing launches and the only drop down options given are to log into RingCentral.com, or Remove, or Hide, or Manage the extension (Enable or Disable).  How do I launch/activate this extension so I can place phone calls?

Try logging into your gmail account if you have one. The login screen should automatically appear on the right side of the window.  Here's the full user guide if you need it.
