Delay & Echo on Android

Are there any tweaks available to reduce the delay & echo on my Android S6 when using Ring Central? Every call I make or receive has a significant delay that makes conversations awkward. Mostly its a delay problem but occasionally the echo comes to play too.

I'm in Canada, my Android smartphone is my primary way of using RingCentral.  My cell carrier is Bell.

MY GOAL:  I want clearer call service using Ring Central - I love Ring Central features but if I can't actually get a good quality of call, I may have to consider other options as this is the primary line for my company.

I've tried looking for info through the help pages of Ring Central but just am not sure about what I'm reading.   I'm not using Wifi when any of this is happening and its on my Bell provided smartphone so I don't know that checking my internet speed or router would help.

TIA for any solutions!

Hi Lisa,

You are on the right track.  The echo and delay is indeed network related, and yes if you are not on wifi, then it won't do any good to check your router or internet speed. If you are using the mobile network, you can try downloading an app from the Google Play store called Voiptester, which will provide the following tests: Ping, Packet Loss, Jitter, download & upload speed tests.

The results will likely vary depending on the strength of your signal, so you may want to test it in different locations, indoors, outdoors, etc.  If you have a good strong signal, but are getting lots of jitter, latency, and packet loss ( should be zero), then you may want to contact your provider.
