Call Handling: Can I use Ringcentral Voicemail for personal Verizon Cell Phone?

I'm wondering if there's a way that I can have RingCentral handle my voicemail, rather than Verizon, when someone calls my Verizon-issued cell phone number. Currently, I have my voicemails routed through Google Voice, and Google will save that voicemail and attempt to transcribe it. I'd prefer to have RC perform this function. Is this possible?

Hello Andrew,

Unfortunately there is not a way to have a caller dial your Verizon cell phone number and have the call ring on your cell phone, but have a voicemail processed by RingCentral.

You can have your cell phone ring from a call that comes into RingCentral and if the call is not answered on your cell phone then the voicemail will be answered by RingCentral, but the caller would have to initiate the call by dialing a RingCentral number, not your cell phone number for this to work.

Andrew - This might be a possible solution: If you have your Verizon Calls forwarded to the RingCentral System, then have your extension forwarded to your cell phone... if the option "play announcement" is enabled (default) the call will be pulled back to RC VM if not answered and the vm will remain in our system. The  "play announcement" option requires you to "press 1 to connect" the call...so if you don't press 1, the call/vm will remain in our system.

You call also use the RingCentral Mobile App (Android & iPhone) to answer the calls (instead of forwarding them) and that way if you don't answer the call on the mobile app, the call will remain in the RC system.

How does this second option work, Kim, with the mobile app answering calls?

You will login to your RingCentral Digital Line on the Mobile App...have your verizon number forwarded to your RC DL, and then you can take the calls from your Mobile App over WiFi or Data.

Here's the instructions:  https://support.google.com/voice/answer/115110?hl=en&ref_topic=1708439

I believe the setup on Verizon's end involves making a call to a certain number and entering a code. Either way, I no longer receive any voicemails within Verizon's system.
